A recent paper by Novak and Stangor on testing competitive market structures involves testing a two-sided hypothesis to determine the nature of the competitive market structure. In this paper the authors provide an improvement to the Novak and Stangor procedure by considering a one-sided multivariate hypothesis and suggest methods for testing such hypotheses.
