The pay‐as‐you‐weigh pricing model of an air ticket, which envisages passengers’ body weight as a major determinant (at least in part) of a fare, attracted much attention from the media and the public recently. This article summarizes, analyzes and synthesizes this attention to formulate a message from the media and the public from a public policy perspective.
