In today's competitive environment, the ability to work with emotion plays a vital role in faculty members' performance. From many studies, it has been proved that the faculty members who have higher scores on emotional intelligence perform better in both work and family life, which leads to personal satisfaction. Work‐life balance is the hallmark of emotional intelligence among the faculty members. Based upon this, an empirical study was done to focus the influence of emotional intelligence on work‐life balance for better performance which paves way to higher satisfaction of faculty members in the educational institutions, Tamil Nadu, India. This study identified the reasons for the group of faculty members perform better than others in both work and family life.
