Abstract:

The field of supply chain management is growing, and with that growth, a heightened need for skilled supply chain managers has been created. This study examines the specific skills/competencies desired by supply chain managers in candidates for employment. Further, the study examines how supply chain management curriculums can be adapted to the dynamic nature of the business environment. Through in‐depth interviews as well as a comprehensive survey administered to supply chain executives, this research identifies the specific skills and competencies that industry professionals expecting candidates seeking a career in supply chain management in the USA.
