In order to remain competitive, many manufacturing firms have attempted to implement major changes in their organizations. One such change is adopting the ‘just-in-time’ (JIT) concept in their operations. However, there is little research on the applicability of any of the theories of planned organization change to the adoption of JIT. The purpose of this study is to empirically relate the theory of planned organization intervention by Lewin and Schein to the adoption of JIT related changes.
