Abstract:

This paper is an extension and further validation of Tummala and Schoenherr (2008) who developed a Supply Chain Management (SCM) implementation decision framework based on best practices identified in past literature. This manuscript reports and analyses the results of a survey among supply chain managers of a large international manufacturing company, testing the framework. As such, this study provides insight into how relevant and important the identified enablers, SCM initiatives and the related operational plans are, and how they aid in the implementation of a comprehensive SCM approach within the company.
