This paper provides a framework for taking a fresh look at pricing and fare management. It defines and quantifies the fare management challenge and provides an approach to valuing the benefits from improving the fare management function and the pricing process in general. The focus is on process management and management control issues, not on automation or IT solutions: examine what you do, determine what is important, change the work process accordingly and make sure it is followed every day.
