The purpose of this paper is to describe a new design for the Operations Management course taught in many large business schools. A hybrid approach is developed and has been successfully implemented at our university. The course provides an alternative to the standard, large section lecture model of content delivery that has been popular for years on large college campuses. In particular, the course design blends lecture, small class attention and practical hands‐on problem solving to provide a more effective learning environment.
