Abstract:

The implementation of Operational Research OR is a key issue for practitioners and in this paper it is argued that implementation would benefit from more formal analysis of organizational change. A framework for change is proposed and emphasis is placed on an understanding of the context and process of change in addition to its content. The framework and associated conceptual elements are illustrated using a case study of the introduction of a material requirements plannign system into a manufacturing company.
