Abstract:

This paper is concerned with the problem of ensuring that every player in a Little League baseball team plays about the same number of games in a season. The client, a baseball coach, recognised that the skills of all players should be developed in games; many players who needed experience had been left on the bench. The problem was formulated as an integer programming problem.
