The improper siting of plywood and veneer factories has given rise, in Iran, to unsatisfactory production. For future plants, it has been decided to analyze the problem on a more scientific basis. A hierarchy was constructed based on five major groups of criteria, and the weight of the indicators established by Analytical Hierarchy Process. These weights were employed in TOPSIS to rank the alternatives. Finally the potential sites were identified according to the priorities obtained by this technique.
