The method of paired comparisons is used when a group of individuals aims to establish an optimal classification on a set of any elements and to eventually choose a ‘winner’. The group decision not being always consistent, coefficients which measure the degree of consistency of a group are proposed and it is shown how to use adequately paired comparisons in practical situations, especially for the evaluation of tasks and in marketing.
