The main jobs in project management of an information processing system development are estimation of manpower and duration of sub-tasks, men scheduling for projects and their rescheduling to resolve project delay. Traditional mathematical models for these jobs are not effective for real applications. Factors and methods which are dependent on the experience and know-how of the managers should be considered. The authors have developed a project management system. This paper presents a new scheduling method for it, which takes the managers’ know-how into account. Estimation of manpower and duration is done by modifying standard values, using know-how which reflects the difference between a standard project and a specific one. Man scheduling and rescheduling is done under combination of standard algorithms for load balancing or tuning, and strategic know-how for using their algorithms. A current project is diagnosed from various points of view. This system has been successfully applied to real projects. [In Japanese.]
