Presents a critical review of the relevance of postmodernism to organisation science. Briefly defines what postmodernism means in general before providing a detailed review of the available postmodernist organization science literature. Analyses the political agenda of postmodernists and highlights the inability of what is essentially a critical technique to generate genuinely new research. A response by Stanley Deetz and an editorial piece commenting upon both articles appear in the same issue. [Abstracts follow.]
