A risk analysis is presented which assists the facilities planning process in coping with significant uncertainties in a natural gas pipeline system. The model replaces the current worst case approach by a dynamic risk assessment. The results, which required the development of an efficient algorithm, provide useful insight for capacity planning and contractual negotiations with both customers and suppliers.
