Abstract:

The paper defines an acceleration process for iterated vectors generated by a matrix iterative process. It considers here an algorithm in which the acceleration process is applied once after every m+2 iterations of a matrix iterative process. Then the present aim is to determine the number m (precisely m+2) required for each appliction of the acceleration process to be effective. Two examples are given to demonstrate the analytical results and to compare them with Jennings’ acceleration process.
