All major projects are subject to risk. Current research has concentrated on eliciting individuals’ risk attitudes, and analysing projects to estimate overall project risk. The paper explains the need for a risk-management infrastructure. Criteria for choosing methods are described. Various techniques in current use are discussed. Issues involved in multicompany projects are noted.
