Abstract:

The measurement system is unacceptable, if gage R&R is > 30%. However, when, products that remain under development, the inconsistency that exists is due to 'repeatability' as well as product inconsistency. Secondly, the complete range of the product will not be tested for consistency. To take care of the repeatability problem by separating out the product consistency aspects from the measurement system, it is replaced with a simulated equivalent. This simulated equivalent has excellent consistency and consequently yields dependable results. In this paper, the authors discuss the problem through one case example along with the associated remedial measures.
