The use of advanced analytics in the world of business is quickly evolving and growing. The existence of specific departments dedicated to data, analytics and overall decision support is becoming more and more common. However, as analytics and its integration into common business practices evolve, the skill sets required to support and grow these roles must also evolve. The analyst of the future will need to possess some very specific skill sets, well beyond the quintessential mathematics, statistical or operations research skills. This article discusses some of the core skills we believe the analyst of the future will need in order to be successful.
