This paper considers on-condition maintenance based on periodic inspection and control of a condition parameter which describes the wear and deterioration of the productive equipment. The paper develops a model based on delay time and imperfect inspection, and builds a graphical procedure to choose the best inspection interval for different criteria. The interpretation of this graphical procedure allows the factors that are relevant for inspection decision-making to be emphasized.
