The FEAL-8 cipher has been already applied in many application fields; however, some users want to use upgraded versions to counter chosen plaintext attacks or exhaustive key search. In response to these demands, the authors have expanded the FEAL-8 cipher while guaranteeing upward compatibility. The expanded version makes the round number of cipher processings and key length (i.e., 64-bit key and 128-bit key) user options. FEAL-8 can be specified by the options. This paper discloses the specifications of the new FEAL cipher, and considers its design ideas, implementation and secure uses. [In Japanese.]
