Systems continuously deteriorate over time, and hence require repair and maintenance to uphold their reliability and availability. Two imperfect multi‐component repair models are examined in this paper, where it is assumed that the performance of a system becomes inferior after each failure. The first model presents a system that fails in a single failure model, while the second examines a system that fails in one of two modes. In both models, the long‐term performance of a system is studied by measuring the steady‐state probability of the system in the operational state. An example is presented to illustrate the concept.
