There is an increasing awareness and interest among academics and practitioners that knowledge is a critical resource for competitive advantage. Despite the endeavor to follow KM frameworks and strategies, organisations have encountered varied results in their KM implementation. Using the focus group method, this study explores various perceptions from knowledge workers in order to appreciate the significance of knowledge management. Their insights shed light on the gap that exists between KM's theoretical foundations and its practical implementations. It also brings out and highlights several KM themes, which are then formed as bases for possible KM research issues and initiatives.
