During the last years the multilevel models have been frequently utilized in the analysis of longitudinal data, especially in the field of education. In this paper an example of application in medical research is presented and are discussed the advantages of these models over the classical ones. The motivation emerges of a problem of anesthesiology which we desire study the influence of two anesthetic induction devices on the blood pressure. The application evidence the power of the multilevel models for the longitudinal data analysis.
