Abstract:

This paper addresses a new method for robust decentralized design of proportional-integral-based load-frequency control (LFC) with communication delays. In the proposed methodology, the LFC problem is reduced to a static output feedback control synthesis for a multiple delays power system, and then the control parameters are easily carried out using robust H control technique. To demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed control strategy, an experimental study has been performed on the Analog Power System Simulator at the Research Laboratory of the Kyushu Electric Power Co. in Japan.
