Community operational research: Thinking globally whilst acting locally

This paper consider the elements of the ‘crisis’ in operational research which has been identified over recent years. It outlines some of the features of community operational research, which has grown out of this ‘crisis’, and presents the approach of participatory research that underpins it. It argues that IFORS has an important role to play in consolidating the developing worldwide community Operational Research OR movement and linking it to other global social movements.
