Effects of the diffusion of computational methods in the Brazilian agriculture: The use of data processing in dairy cooperatives

In recent years Brazil has seen a wide dissemination of the so called scientific methods within the Agricultural Sector. From payroll programs specifically designed for the Agricultural Sector to software to calculate the minimum cost feed mix or large algorithms for the location of warehouses and silos, the computer is having an increasing importance within agricultural planning. In this paper the authors give some of the characteristics and analyze some of the consequences of this fact examining data processing in dairy cooperatives.
