The M/G/1 retrial queuing system with vacation threshold M and customer loss is discussed. Some important indexes are given such as the necessary and sufficient conditions for the system to be stable, the method to obtain the generating functions of the state distribution of the server state when the threshold is a general M. The Laplace transformation of the distribution function of the first server vacation time is given especially when M=1.
