Practitioners’ viewpoints on computer competency of POM students indicate that inventory control is the most likely area for the use of computers. The survey results also show that POM practitioners do not expect to see any computer competencies in the strategic and operational areas, in spite of heavy emphasis on operations strategy in the current POM literature.
