Abstract:

This paper proposes a new methodology for problem formulation, The methodology incorporates structured walkthroughs or review meetings into Bowen's process of problem formulation. In Bowen's process of problem formulation, a consultant's diagrammatic representation of a problem and the notation used are communicated to a client who studies it and then sends his/her comments or modified diagram back to the consultant. The new methodology reduces the length of the cyclic process of sending forward and backward diagrammatic representations of a problem. Software for drawing diagrammatic representation of a problem is also suggested. The software is easlily available and simplifies the process of producing numerous diagrams.
