A project logistic is performed once in a multisupplier and multiproduct environment, in which it is crucial to explore interdependencies and manage project uncertainties. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a dependency structure matrix that enables the systematic identification of project logistic interdependencies. This is essential as project logistics has a lot of flexibility in decision making when comparing traditional supply chains. Key features of project logistics are compared to distribution logistics and differences are elucidated. A framework for logistics process development is presented and critical interfaces are highlighted. The choice of concepts and the final construction of the framework is demonstrated by an empirical research on EPC projects. A case study of a power plant delivery is analysed and managerial implications are suggested, based on project logistics analysis.
