Competence-cell-based networks represent an original organisational form for the creation of value. For this approach, specific models, concepts, methods and instruments concerning their planning and operation are needed. At the beginning the intentions for the scientific investigation of the approach, its vision and fundamental conception are represented. Based on models of the competence cell and its networking, suitable concepts for their organisation (e.g. two-level co-operation) and their planning (e.g. the planning concept for networks) are described. Furthermore prototype investigations and possibilities for getting the prototype networks are explained. Finally with respect to the envisioned transfer of the approach into practice, favourable scenarios for this are discussed.
