Abstract:

Most of the studies on capacitated lot size problems are based on the assumption that the capacity is known exactly. However, in most practical applications, this is seldom the case. Fuzzy number theory is ideally suited to represent this vague and uncertain future capacity. In this study, the fuzzy sets theory is applied to solve this capacitated lot size problem. By using numerical examples in the literature, the approach is shown to be a very useful one.
