An integrated multicriteria decision support system is presented. At the first step, the descriptive data of the multiattribute problem are transformed, by rules, into a manageable decision matrix. A suitable expert system architecture is described in order to realize this transfer of the descriptive data to the multiattribute matrix. Then, the decision matrix obtained is ready to be processed by any multicriteria method. Here an application is made with an interactive program allowing an ‘intelligent’ exploration relying on artificial intelligence ideas.
