Information in manufacturing systems is at the core of an MRP II implementation. Three types of data information need to be considered: static data base, relational, and dynamic information elements. This article analyses the nature of these as they are found in manufacturing systems and provides implementers with methodologies to insure the utility and accuracy of MRP II system data bases.
