Abstract:

By use of the ‘Rate Conservation Law (RCL)’, based on stationary point process and Palm distribution theory, this paper discusses a M/G/1 type Queuing System with general vacation policy. The model permits customer arrivals in ‘idle period’ with non-Poisson intervals, and services may be interrupted by server vacations. We obtain the stochastic decomposition formulae in steady state for the workload of the system and the queue length, seen by the customer before departure.
