A simulation model has been developed to determine the impact of the implementation of environmental programmes putting restrictions on fertiliser use and mowing date on dairy farms. In the paper, the simulation model is described and results showing the trade-offs between the economic, environmental and nature protection criteria are given. Finally, the optimal compromise is found using multi-criteria analysis.
