Abstract:

Random stacking is a complex procedure by which boxes are loaded in undefined patterns. The proposed model is a modification to a recent heuristic that has been developed to comply with weakly heterogeneous palletization of boxes arriving in random order. Modifications were made in such pallet load stability, and box demand requirements are incorporated. The different palletization procedures of the heuristic have been simulated using C++ programs. Ten different simulation runs were conducted to validate the modified heuristic. The results are compared with those of the previous model.
