Abstract:

A study of the cost analysis of a one-unit non-repairable system subject to on-line preventive maintenance (PM) is made in this paper. It is assumed that the system can fail while the server is carrying out the PM action on it. It is also assumed that, immediately upon arrival, the server takes up the system for inspection and then the actual PM action is performed. All the random variables that are involved in the analysis are assumed to be arbitrarily distributed. Explicit expression for the expected total cost to be incurred in 0,t is obtained by considering the expected number of inspections and PM works completed by the server. The analysis is carried out using the regeneration point technique.
