In his book Fundamentals of decision theory, written in the early 1970s, Doug White offers a formal structure of decision theory. This structure identifies the components of and participants to a decision and the interrelations between these. Some twenty years on, this structure still offers much on which we may reflect in developing methods for prescriptive decision analysis.
