Abstract:

This article continues the debate into journal evaluation methodologies and into the publishing patterns of UK academics. The strengths and weaknesses of both citation index studies and peer review studies are evaluated. Both methodologies are argued to be useful in evaluating journal quality. Networking and journal content are posited as barriers to Uk academics publishing in the US.
