Abstract:

For isolating holistic improvement actions in case studies and management consultancy, the author attempted to learn Soft Systems Methodology-which he did successfully in an impressively short time after overcoming some unexpected problems. The practice case study involved the use of information technology in primary schools. Training material was hard to find but the author was able to compensate by doing workbook examples from an existing course. He quickly obtained the necessary level of understanding in order to complete the particular problem analysis competently. However, according to more experienced practitioners, he will need to be careful in more complex situations if the results are to have appropriate comprehensiveness and clarity of insight.
