This article describes how the development and implementation of a flexible distribution system helped a large industrial corporation, located in Brazil, to improve its distribution of agricultural products. The main features of the project are highlighted. The linkage between the distribution problem and the creation of an Operational Research OR group in the company is also pointed out.
