Osipov: The ‘Russian Lanchester’

In 1915, practically contemporaneously with Lanchester, M. Osipov published a remarkable series of articles in the Tzarist Russian journal Military Collection. These articles contain a complete analysis of what in the West has conventionally been called Lanchester’s square law. A new translation of Osipov’s work has recently been completed, which will make it easier for Western military analysts to appreciate its merits.
