Data from a trial with five groups of dairy cows each fed a different amount of concentrate were combined with data from the literature to develop a linear program model for dairy cows. The linear program model evaluates production responses to different amounts of concentrate feeding under alternate prices for feed and milk to formulate the most profitable diet that meets nutritional requirements.
