The scheduling of opeations in hospitals is an important and complex process which can be treated as an optimization problem. The problem is similar in a range of hospitals but individual differences exist which need to be accounted for in models. One option for tackling this problem is to automate the greedy allocation procedure to determine feasible solutions which will hopeuflly be near optimal.
