Currently, there are several exchange programmes in Japan for schoolchildren between large cities and rural areas. These exchanges are valued by smaller municipalities as contributions to rural development. This paper describes an attempt to measure the effect of the exchanges on the experiences of schoolchildren. The data discussed here is concerned with linguistic variables. The paper uses fuzzy modeling to examine the difference in utility between the linguistic knowledge of the participants. [In Japanese.]
