In this study, the performance of two common schedule construction approaches, blocked-time and event-driven, are examined. A simulation model facilitates testing these two approaches, using various due-date dependent loading rules and shop utilization levels. Issues related to planned lead times, delivery performance, and schedule stability are examined.
