Abstract:

This paper deals with the two-objective design of the separated-functional FMS to minimize the total equipment cost and to reduce the number of pallets, provided that the number of machining centers and the limit of the number of pallets, which were fixed in the previous paper, are not given in advance. The properties of the objective functions are analysed according to the closed queueing network theory. An efficient algorithm is proposed for generating all nondominated solutions to this model. Applying the algorithm to a numerical example illustrates the procedure for selecting a preferred solution among the derived nondominated solutions. [In Japanese.]
