Abstract:

Attrition or ratio of force strengths have usually been considered as factors affecting combat termination leading to absolute or proportional decision rules. This article defines combat termination decision rules depending upon the casualties and the ratio of force strengths and studies the effect of these rules on parity number and number of survivors at combat termination using a generalized force strength equation which satisfies a large class of attribution laws.
